Sheffield City Region Skills, Employment and Education Delivery Plan

In 2017, York Consulting developed a delivery plan to support the 'Skills, Employment and Education theme of the Sheffield City Region Local Industrial Strategy.

The work involved:

  • An assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the Sheffield City Region economy, focusing in particular on labour market and skills.
  • One-to-one and group consultations with employers in all industry sectors. The consultations explored future skills needs, implications of national skills policy and the work readiness of new entrants to the labour market.
  • In-depth consultations with school, college and university leaders to obtain their perspectives on local skills needs.
